We teach you how to cycle correctly on any indoor bike and we give you the tools to be able to put your own training programs together. The education adheres to proper training principles and incorporates OHS, safety, correct set up, correct cycling cadence, heart rate training and class templates. The training is available for anyone interested in Cycle, whether you are a fitness instructor, personal trainer, fitness enthusiast, someone wanting to be a cycle instructor or anyone who wants to know the secrets behind what creates a fun and effective Cycle class.
We offer online training and face to face courses. If we do not conduct training on a date that suits you face to face, we can arrange in-house training for groups of ten. Alternatively, why not complete the online course? The training is a complete, nationally certified program with Fitness Australia and Physical Activity Australia.
You donʼt have to be a fitness instructor to complete the online course and the minimum education requirement to be able to teach indoor cycling is a Certificate in Fitness and the Cycle Excel Level One course.

Frequently Asked Questions
Really simple, you click and pay for the Level 1, 2 or 3 Cycle Excel course and you get instant access. Once you have logged in you now have access to all the videos and educational materials. The videos are streamed and divided into chapters and offer training video footage with a written summary at the end of each chapter. You get to keep the training for 5 months so you can go back and review each chapter until you feel confident. The benefit is you can watch it on your Iphone, Android, laptop or Ipad. The Level 1 course will take approximately seven hours, leve1 2 three 1/2 hours and level 3 three 1/2 hours.
The training is available to cyclists, instructors, personal trainers and cycle enthusiasts who would like to learn more about indoor cycling. There are cycle studios that have opened recently that do not require any certificate in fitness qualification. If you are a fitness enthusiast, please contact your cycle studio manager to find out what qualifications you may need. The larger fitness facilities may require a certificate three or four in fitness. Usually a current first aid and CPR certificate is also required. In the USA, UK and NZ, please contact your fitness registration organizations and your local cycle studios to confirm requirements.
Personal trainers and experienced trainers can take their training to another level by learning how to become a cycle coach. The certification covers important information such as basic training and advanced training, technique, correct cycling cadence for road cycling and indoor cycling and the pedal stroke which can be used to train a client for road cycling.
The minimum requirement to teach is at least Cycle Excel level 1 but we recommend at least Cycle Excel level 1 & 2. If completing the face to face course, level 1 takes one full day, a minimum of seven hours and level 1 & 2 one and a half days, usually held over a weekend. If completing the online course a maximum of seven hours but the advantage is you can complete it in one day or you can take your time and review for up to 5 months, even after you have completed the online quiz you will still receive access.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start time. Bring along pen and paper, water, towel, energy drinks, snacks, food requirements (as lunch is not provided), a change of warm clothes, two sets of workout gear, a heart rate monitor if you have one, cycle padded shorts and stiff soled shoes make the ride more comfortable if you have them.
Of course! The certification is suitable for beginner to the advanced and is delivered in a supportive learning environment.
The course is delivered in a supportive learning environment, we are not here to test your fitness, we are here to educate you to be an indoor cycling instructor. Yes we do cycle but it is achievable. During the face to face course we are on and off the bike all day. When completing the Online virtual courses, you can take your time and work at your own pace.
You can start teaching immediately. You may prefer to practice or you may like to teach the very next day. You will certainly have enough information, experience and class templates to teach.
We offer in house training for many fitness chains, all we require is a minimum of ten participants and we bring the certification to you at a time that is convenient to you. We can offer all cycle programs for your staff; the level 1 certification is a great way to ensure that all instructors are up to date with the latest information. It also offers consistency in your group cycling programs and ensures all instructors are following occupational health and safety procedures. The level 2 program is a great way to revise safety guidelines, team building, bike positioning, technique and of course get enthused with new ideas and training programs. The level 2 & 3 is recommended for instructors who are experienced and fully certified indoor cyclists.
